Our pediatric emergency room is separate from our main ER and is located adjacent to the Women's Hospital entrance in the Sky Ridge Hospital Evergreen Building. We are open 24/7 and staffed with experienced pediatric doctors and nurses prepared to treat any medical emergency.

A stress-free pediatric ER experience for families
Going to the ER can be stressful and scary for children. That is why our Lone Tree pediatric ER uses RxPlainER—a tablet that explains care and treatment to pediatric patients through carefully crafted videos. RxPlainER also sends instant messages to update patients and provides profiles on the nursing staff and doctors.
This system facilitates communication and entertainment in an easy, efficient way. While waiting for results, patients may browse the internet, view health-related videos, watch shows or play age-appropriate games. It serves as a fun distraction for children during procedures and allows our pediatric specialists to focus on what they do best—caring for kids.
When the fear factor is eliminated from an ER visit, so is much of the stress that comes along with it. This system increases efficiency, patient satisfaction and understanding. It helps families understand what to expect next in their ER visit and better understand care instructions upon returning home.
