Did you know that 20 million Americans, male and female, from all age groups have Sleep Apnea? And, it gets more common as we age. In fact, 40% or more of people over age 65 have Sleep Apnea. Snoring is often a symptom of this potentially dangerous sleep disorder. If left untreated, Sleep Apnea can lead to high blood pressure, respiratory failure, heart problems, obesity, impotence and sudden death.

At the Sleep Disorders Center at Sky Ridge Medical Center, our staff of sleep medicine specialists work with each patient to diagnose and treat sleep problems. We focus on helping children ages 8 to 18 and adults gain better sleep.

Overnight Sleep Study for Accurate Diagnosis

Obstructive sleep apnea and snoring are correctable once an accurate diagnosis is made. A painless, overnight study must be performed. Electronic sensors are attached to your body while you sleep to monitor up to 25 continuous measurements that include heart activity, breathing, oxygen level and brain activity.
