Why HealthONE Sky Ridge FMR? What do you love?

I choose Health One FMR based primarily on the amazing team we get to work with every day. Our residents are happy, supportive, and willing to step up when someone needs a hand or to grab a beer after work. Our faculty is always willing to hear resident suggestions and will work to solve problems before they happen, or as quickly as possible after they are identified. Our community preceptors are always a phone call away for a quick consult and excited to help us become well rounded family medicine physicians. Medical Interests: Global Medicine, Hispanic Healthcare

Bio: I’m just a farm boy from Central Nebraska. I spent most of my life checking cows and planting corn before running off to Colorado to become a doctor, and decided I should probably stick around for residency too! I love to play sports and stay active during my free time, and would love to discuss the finer points of Husker football or Premier League soccer with you. I also love traveling, and global medicine is a particular passion of mine. I even met my beautiful wife on one of the mission trips I took to Ecuador!

Why HealthONE Sky Ridge FMR? What do you love?

My wife was a medical student at Rocky Vista University when I graduated, so staying in Colorado if possible was a no-brainer. The HealthONE FMR had everything I needed and more, so it was an easy choice for me at the time. After the fact, I developed relationships with some of the best clinical faculty I could’ve asked for. They’ve made this entire process a lot easier in the long run, and always take extra time teaching us how to become amazing doctors. The HealthONE FMR has also given me the freedom to pursue my personal passion in global medicine, and I now oversee the Global medicine track of our program. Hoping to expand it as soon as possible and send even more residents out to see the world in a different light!
