LONE TREE, CO – Sky Ridge Medical Center is opening a dedicated, pediatric emergency department on Monday, February 15 at 7 a.m.

This new 11-bed ER is located on the north side of the campus in the Evergreen Medical Office Building, adjacent to the Women’s Hospital.

“We wanted to create a unique, pediatric focused emergency department to better serve the needs of our community…close to home,” said Susan Hicks, CEO of Sky Ridge Medical Center.

“We know how stressful it can be bringing a child to the hospital for any reason," Hicks said. "This new location will give our parents peace of mind knowing their child is in the care of experts who only work with children.”

“It all starts with quality,” said Dr. David Stocker, Medical Director of the Pediatric Emergency Department.  “We will provide the best care for children in everything we do.  That ranges from bringing in the best physicians and nurses from around the country and following the most up-to-date treatment guidelines to having the right equipment for any situation and offering a department exclusively for kids that is inviting and decreases anxiety.”

Sky Ridge has assembled a high-quality, cohesive staff that will effectively and efficiently manage any situation from the most day-to-day tasks to the most critical patient encounters.  Key Features of the Pediatric Emergency Department include:
